White City VA - Building 209
Provide seismic upgrades to the existing Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service Building. The seismic upgrade included the installation of a steel moment frame along with shear walls and hold downs attached to the existing brick exterior of the building as well as shearing the existing roof structure. Additionally, renovations to existing restroom and office facilities including lead & asbestos abatement, misc. demolition, new wall construction, new lighting, HVAC, Fire Suppression, and finishes as well as new entry porch.
The project requires phasing and alternate work schedule to minimize impact to day-to-day operations of the existing building. The work week was Friday-Monday, with no work on Tuesday and Wednesday's and only after 1:30pm on Thursday.
