Built differently from the beginning.
Glen and Mary Brown, Glen/Mar's namesakes, founded the company in 1985 with no capital, no credit, and a deep-seated determination to succeed.
Working from their family home, Glen managed the field while Mary handled the books and administrative responsibilities while raising their two children. What began as a small family business grew through hard work, personal accountability and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Built to last.
The principles Glen and Mary established in 1985 continue to shape Glen/Mar today: work hard, do what counts, build lasting relationships and make decisions with the long term in mind.
Those principles have carried Glen/Mar from its beginnings as a family business to an experienced federal contractor working throughout the Western United States and Pacific.
“When you invest in yourself and invest in others, you build a business that lasts.”
— Glen Brown, Founder
A second generation.
Andy Brown joined Glen/Mar full-time in 1999, continuing the company into its second generation. Over the years that followed, Glen/Mar evolved from its local construction roots into an experienced federal contractor, building increasingly complex projects for agencies throughout the Western United States and Pacific.
While the projects, clients and geographic reach of the company have changed considerably since 1985, the principles on which Glen and Mary built Glen/Mar have remained remarkably consistent.
Still building.
Today, Glen/Mar remains a family-owned small business with the experience and capabilities to execute complex federal construction.
The company has grown, the work has changed and a new generation now leads Glen/Mar—but the expectations established at the beginning remain: work hard, act with integrity, take care of people, build strong relationships and deliver work that lasts.
