Glen/Mar completed a major ICU addition and renovation at the Reno VA Medical Center, transforming existing hospital space into a modern intensive care environment while expanding the facility with approximately 2,000 square feet of new third-floor space. The work included an 11,400-square-foot ICU renovation creating 12 ICU patient rooms, nurses' stations, clinical support spaces, and associated building systems.
The project was performed within an occupied, operational VA medical center while patient care continued above, below, and adjacent to the work. Construction required carefully coordinated phasing, infection-control measures, and after-hours and weekend work to minimize impacts to patients, staff, and ongoing hospital operations.
