Glen/Mar constructed the new 6,200-square-foot Visitor Center at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, creating a new public gateway to one of Southwest Washington's important natural areas. The facility brings together interpretive exhibits, educational and multipurpose spaces, a classroom/wet lab, and dedicated areas supporting refuge volunteers and conservation partners. The Visitor Center serves as a destination for school field trips, bird watchers and other refuge visitors, and supports community events including the refuge's annual bird festival.
The project included complete building construction along with associated civil/site improvements, utilities, landscaping and public access improvements. Work was performed within an active refuge environment while maintaining access to existing U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service operations and minimizing impacts to staff and the visiting public.
